Warning: Be careful who you rent

In order to see things from different perspectives, I have been known to "experiment" at times.

When I was 19, I wanted to see how people with disabilities were actually treated. I went to Manhattan with a friend and "poses" as a person blind for a day. It was very enlightening. I'm building an independent business, which basically needs some things done before they can be officially underway. Having myself the designer and the role of the advertising agency, I started looking a freelance web and graphic designers to finish my project. I am pleased that I took my own advice: I did each person hired before the interview and was really surprised. My first encounter was with the graphic designer – much better prepared than it was my first observation. Webmaster was no better. His research provided me with a design template. How I know that? Because this is my business, but I was not at liberty to say through my experiences. Again and again it was blowing the horn on their customers, their success and all the praise it has received over the years. Long story short, that were fired, of course, but I deeply sympathize with all the people who rely on trusted professionals to help your business. Providers as quickly described is what gives my business a bad name. These were not professionals, were egomaniacs that nickel and dime our customers because they know they can get away with it. Word of warning: never trust a website to describe the ability of a company. Anyone can put a quick shop and portray your business as the "best". Ask for references and take your time before hiring anyone. Examine all contracts and insist that you get all original artwork, which was produced for your project. If a designer / artist reserves all right, move forward and find someone else.

Once a vendor is hired, insist on being part of the process. Waiting at the entrance to their views and insist on learning. And yes, if someone does not work well you fire immediately because it did not bring his dream to the next level. Relationships are the key to all associations and if not working from the beginning, never will.
