Echoing Babel, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and with two Hollywood stars as his guide, Mammoth also marked the director's main English-language project. Michelle Williams and Gael García Bernal co-star of Ellen and Leo, New York marrieds, it is an emergency-room surgeon, is an apathetic, vaguely dissatisfied Designer Internet gaming. They have a family, although an unconventional and a dysfunctional child of seven years old, Jackie (Sophie Nyweide) is practically being raised by a carer 24 / 7 Filipino, Gloria (Marife need), who loves her incessantly. This leads to envy and resentment of Ellen's two children geographically distant Gloria, Manuel (Martin Delos Santos) and Salvador (Jan Nicdao), who repeatedly phone her mother in Manila and beg him to come home. Gloria's mother grows so sorry this behavior is to show how easy Salvador in his life is in comparison with other, leading to unforeseen tragic consequences. Meanwhile, Leo teams with a shifty partner, Bob (Tom McCarthy), flies to Thailand, and meets a carefree and relaxed working mother named Cookie (Run Srinikornchot).
