Google Maps Distances?
Hi there, I live in a rural area. I often go for runs out into the countryside, and there are many ways I can run when I go.
I was wondering if it is possible to measure particular stretches of road on google maps (without using the scale and a ruler), as I am interested as to how far I am running, and which other routes would be similar or more challenging.
I’m guessing it’s possible -google has thought of street view, etc, so surely I can measure certain stretches of road without having to measure all of the different ones in my car?

go to Google Maps, then on the left side click ‘Get Directions’
type in the address of your starting point, and then your ending point
underneath, select ‘walking’ (default is ‘by car’ I believe)
itll give you a few suggested routes and tell you how long it should take you, and how many km (or miles) that route is
