Questions About Photoshop Elements?
Hello, I have 2 questions and I am using this program. I have found an image online that I would like to work with but it has a white background to it. I am very new to PS Elements and I am not sure how to get rid of that background and make it transparent. Can someone please help me with the steps I need to take to do this? I also need to know how to resize images in PS Elements, is this possible? I have a HUGE image and would like to scale it down alot and keep the transparent background that it already has. Thank you!
1.
From the layers palette, right click on the background layer and choose “Duplicate layer…”
2.
delete the background layer by dragging it to the dustbin icon
3.
use magic wand tool – click on the white area and press delete to remove it. be sure to experiment with the settings etc tolerance
4.
save your file as psd ( you need psd file to keep it transparent)
to resize image, go Image < Resize < Image Size
