How to draw to 1:100 scale?

Hi,

I am just doing a piece of coursework and need draw out a floor plan of a house and I have to scale it to 1:100.

I always struggle with scaling drawings, can someone quickly tell me how to scale this out with my tape/ruler.

Have you not got a scale ruler? You need one in order to draw an accurate 1:100 scale.

1 stands for every 100 of a measurement. So if its 100 feet long then 1 stands for 100 feet. You need to translate your actual measurements into scale measurements.. Its easily done as you’re just dividing by 100.

As has been said above if you’re measuring in metres then 1cm on a normal ruler stands for 1 metre.
