Asvab Test Score Breakdown

By admin

How hard is the ASVAB this is my first time taking it and don’t know what to expect!!!?

I went into the local recruiters today and took there practice test and scored a 40 on that he said the normal is a 38 which means that i am above average but what are my chances of being above average on the real thing. I don’t want to go into Lansing tomorrow and fail and look like a dumba** in front of my recruiter how hard is this test and how is the scoring broke down please include examples for the breakdown scoring on the ASVAB thanks!!!!!!!!!

It tests your cumulative knowledge of certain school subjects, such as math and English, as well as your ability (or aptitude) to learn certain job skills. For example, if you are mechanically inclined, your scores will reflect that. If you tend to be more of an electronics fan, you will do well in that area.

The AFQT score, which on your practice test was 40, is based on four tests: Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension, Arithmetic Reasoning, and Mathematics Knowledge.

The word knowledge test is basically a vocabulary test. Paragraph comprehension is where you will read a paragraph and then answer questions about what you’ve just read. Arithmetic reasoning is like any typical math test question where you will be asked to reason through a problem. For example, if you travel east at 100 mph for three hours, how many miles would you travel? The mathematics knowledge test is a speed test on simple math problems. If you know your times tables, you should do well on it.
